The Future in Focus. Vision 2010.
Planning isn’t everything! It just appeared like it in the last 12 months. The finalization of the “Vision 2010” planning took so much more time and focus than we had ever expected before. All staff involved had to shift priorities during this time. Customer visits had to be postponed, trade show visits were cancelled, and vacations were delayed to a future with hopefully less urgent projects (as if this would ever happen…). Clarity for the futureWe have gained clarity in return. Clarity about our customers and how to serve them in the future. We have found a much better vision on new products and what it would take to build them in time. The factors that drive our success as an organization in the market have become much more transparent. As a result of the planning activities we are convinced that Testo will continue the times of profitable growth. We are expecting to increase sales by 80 % in these five years while keeping an adequate profitability. Continued growthThe company was successful the last 12 months. The year 2005 showed the best growth in five years and profits reached a new high – despite much more modest projections at the beginning of the year. Business as usual, – one could say, once one gets used to the fact that a new year always means a new sales record in the Testo world. We expect the same for 2006: With a sales growth of 10 % right now (June 2006) we seem to be on track for another good year. Yes, and we are moderate on the projections of our profits again. The innovation program, Testo’s great initiative to improve the speed of innovation, has been extended for another year with additional positions in R&D resulting in even shorter time-to-market periods for new products. It is a fairly simple concept: If you are convinced that the future holds good things for you, you just want the future to happen sooner rather than later. Burkart Knospe
